Natural foods that are lovingly made by hand and in harmony with nature, are found in South Tyrol farmers markets. There are fruity jams, which are still made according to grandma's recipe, cheese from our own alpine pasture dairy, fragrant mountain herbal teas, homemade bread and fresh eggs. The local products are
offered and sold direct from the farmers on their farms, and so shopping here also provides insight into the traditional South Tyrolean way of life.
Guided tours of the farms, such as the Hof am Schloss of Lichtenberg, enable visitors to learn more about the life and work of the farmers. The visit is typically followed by a tasting of
farm products.
